WILKSHIRE HILLS SIGN

Wilkshire Hills Welcome Sign
Wilkshire Hills Original Sign

The original Wilkshire Hills welcome sign, located in front of the Sleep Inn, contained a 12×18 inch bronze plaque as a memorial to Roger Wilkin, who died in 1990 and was the founder and developer of Wilkshire Hills.

This sign was mounted between two sandstone pillars designed by Andy Palof of Country Sign Co. and served as a welcoming marker for those approaching the community from the west on State Route 212. Sponsored by our association and several business owners, the dedication was held on Nov. 23, 1994.

New 2022 Wilkshire Hills Sign

Due to deterioration, Lawrence Township trustees had a new replacement sign installed on Dec. 6, 2022. Funding was taken from the 3% lodging tax that the Sleep Inn pays, along with a donation from Community Business Association of Northern Tuscarawas County. Also designed by Andy Palof, the current sign adds the words “Welcome to” and “Lawrence Township.”
